I have just compleated building a compter system using an Asrock K7VT4A PRO Mother Board and ATX Case

The problem is is the audio connections although everything seems to be connected to right pin on the Audio connectors Mic, Mic Power, Two Gound connections 4 connections front Right/Left and Two Back Right/left audio connections.
Now the problem is with the mic not the audio the audio works perfectly.

The mic left and right slider for Bass and Treble are greyed out in the Volume out Advanced panelon the volume controls with windows but the main volume mic slider is ok

I plugged my mic into the back connecter also tried the front connector but there is recognition of a mic at all it as if there is mic power

There is a pin on the audio connectors and its marked +5VA but I dont have a lead for that pin leading from the case. Could that be the problem

Everything else works perfectly

Has anyone got any ideas what could be the problem please

Does the mic work? Can you record anything or use it through your speakers?

If the sliders are greyed out it only means that your motherboard or soundcards drivers didn't include those functions with the supplied drivers. It does not mean there is a problem.

In my sound controls there is a 3D depth enhancement slider that has greyed out bass and treble controls but the 3D effects still work fine.

Thanks for repying Fruss Tray Ted yep the mic is working on my other computer just fine when I check the mic level on my old computer you can see the level meter going up and down as you talk the the mic.
But on the new build nothing happens when I talk no meter going up and down it looks to me as if the computer isnt getting a signal.

The new build hasnt got an external sound card it has got internet sound blaster 16 on board.
I am using that I was thinking of getting a sound card to see if that made any difference but I cant help thinking that there is another pin somewhere that I have forgot the thing is I havent got any more leads from the case to go anywhere.

Have you tried the pink mic in jack on the back of the mobo itself?

Looking up your motherboard (http://www.asrock.com/product/product_k7vt4a_pro.htm), I see the connectors you mention in the manual (http://www.asrock.com/Drivers/Manual/K7VT4APro_um.pdf) but there's no mention of anything that may need to be enabled in BIOS so I am at a loss as what to do other than suggesting you contact customer support (http://www.asrock.com/support/index.htm) and ask them how it needs to be wired to work with the front jacks.
