Hi gang.
I have been having some very bad luck trying to get my Firefox settings from one PC to take effect on a different PC. I have followed all the directions according to Firefox's website entitled "Backing Up Your Profile" and "Move an Existing profile or restore a backed up profile" but it does not seem to be working right.
I am still confused if I should be transferring only the Profiles folder and then editing the profiles.ini file already present on the second computer (created by installing Firefox) or if I should copy the entire Profiles folder, the profiles.ini file, and/or the pluginreg.dat file.
If anyone else has ever been able to migrate from one machine to another successfully with Firefox (both PCs running XP Home), I would love to hear how you did it. Doing the same process with Mozilla Thunderbird was a breeze, though (took exactly 49 seconds).
One thing that I should mention as well: On the original PC, the Firefox version is 1.0.3 and on the destination PC it is still running Firefox 1.0. this couldn't be causing the problems, could it? If so, I can upgrade the second computer's version if need be, but I'd still like to know exactly which files and folders should be copied over to the destination PC.
Thanks in advance for any help...:D
