Hi everyone,
I am trying to decide which Acer model to buy. Both are identical apart from one is a Mobile 1.7Ghz and the other is a P4 3.2Ghz. 512Mb ram, 64Mb radeon 9700, 80Gb HDD, DVD Writer (Dual format) 15" TFT etc. How much difference would there be when running games software? The M 1.7Ghz version has a nice antiglare screen whereas the P4 3.2Ghz does not. So its a tradeoff. If I choose the nice screen M how much speed etc in games would I lose compared to the P4?
Advice greatly appreciated.

Centrino improves battery life...... That and the fact the P4 runs hotter, means the system will not last as long (IMHO) as heat is the enemy of compenents stored in a think lap-top case....

I take your point on that issue . Battery life would not be a significant issue because the machine would spend approx 90% of the time connected to the mains. Heat, though, would be a factor. But what about the difference in performance using intensive graphic applications?

As far as I know and Saphalline can correct me If I'm wrong.

The Centrino 1.7 should equall to a P4 3.4. If you are concerned about gaming, get the PC with the best video card.
