hi everyone, i have assembled a new computer. AMD ATHLON 1.1 Ghz ECS K7S5A mainboard, Eagle GeForce 2MX, 128 DDR, Sound Blaster and Windows XP OS. i see something stupid on my computer. when i use the cpu speed is 1,1 Ghz (133 Mhz FSB) my computer will Crash,(especially when i am playing game) there is no disk activity i only hear noise sound and can'nt stop until i push the reset button, sometimes it will restart by itself. (note my CPU temperature on 1.1 ghz is 60-65 C), if i use 850 Mhz (100 Mhz FSB) CPU Speed, it is OK, my computer start and work normally although playing a game. (the CPU temp. while running in 850 Mhz is 50-56 C), but unique when i use 1.1 Ghz CPU speed with SAFE MODE boot menu, my system will work correctly, i only get this experience when i start my windows xp on NORMAL MODE with 1.1 ghz speed, i was used vga and sound driver that has built in on windows xp package, whats wrong with my system ? if the CPU temperature?, but i thinks my CPU can still work normally in the temperature, for your attention i would say thanks.

I had the same problem. Installed more case fans. Also install volcanno 6 cpu fan. Brought temp. down 15 degrees. Mine was not freezing up. Post back and welcome to the PC Guide.

Can you set the memory speed independently of the fsb? If so make sure that it is set correctly...100mhz for PC1600 or 133mhz for PC2100
