I start my computer and it starts to boot up like usual, but when it get's to what I guess is the BIOS page which says what kind of motherboard I have and such, it stops. I can't even hit delete to get into the BIOS settings. I have checked my ram by plugging the chip sets into different slots and one at a time and, either way, nothing changes. I tried my video cards in different slots and nothing changes. No matter what I can think to do it still stalls at the same place.

I know I screwed it up somehow because it didn't do this until the night before, when I accidently told it to restart when I just wanted it to shut down. So I waited for it to shut down and then turned it off at the power before it could boot up again. I know it was stupied of me to do and I won't be doing that ever again. If that is not the cause, then the only other thing I can think of is that I installed an upgrade to my NVidia drivers the night before. But my computer had rebooted twice since then. So I am at a total loss as to what to do now. Can someone please help me?

Some things to try:
-Reset CMOS with a motherboard jumper(check computer's or MB's documentation on this).
-Check the CMOS battery. If less that the rated voltage, replace it.
-If you're not getting any beeps during startup, then place the MB on a piece of cardboard with just the CPU, power supply, case speaker, and power start button installed. If you still hear no beeps after pressing the power on button, then either the MB, CPU, or power supply module may be bad. The only way to check these items is to swap out.
-If you hear beeps at startup, then configure things the same as above and install the memory. Same beeps? Memory is bad. Different beeps? Install the video card. Same beeps? video card is bad.

Thanks Ski. However, on a hunch, I tried booting up with my windows CD and it came up with errors. It couldn't find a dll that I can't remember the name of and was asking me if I wanted to install windows. Well since, I have two video cards and a dual monitor system, i was confused that it only came up with one monitor. I wondered if the second monitor hadn't come up because I had it's video card in a different slot. So I went ahead and shut down the computer to put the video back in it's original place and try again. But when I went to turn it back on, nothing happened.

Now my computer will not start at all. I checked my chords and every connection from the power button to the mother board and from the motherboard to the power supply and everything was secure. The only thing I can guess is that I have some how short circuited the power supply. What do you think?

Put the video card back into the slot it was in when you were able to get a display and check for a display at startup.
If you get a display, insert the Windows boot disk, restart, select 'Start Windows Without CD-ROM Support', press Enter, type scandisk at the A:\> prompt, press Enter.
If Scandisk does not find any corrupted files, then leave the Windows boot disk inserted, restart the computer, select 'Start Windows With CD-ROM Support', press Enter, note the letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive(D or E or whatever), insert the Windows installation CD, type the letter for your CD-ROM drive after the A:\> prompt, press Enter, type setup, press Enter, setup will start for reinstalling Windows on top of itself, follow the instructions.
If reinstalling Windows does not fix things, then you may have to reformat the hard drive and install Windows from scratch, as well as your programs, updates, patches, etc.

Thanks, Ski. I will definatly do that once I get my computer to run again. But first I half to to fet my computer to start up now. I have pretty mutch decided that my powersupply short circuited somehow. So I think my next step is going to be to get a new one and go from there.

I apologize for double posting. But if you guys would go look at the other thread you would see that I apologized for it there too and asked that it be locked SEVERAL DAYS AGO. I would have deleted it myself but, as you know, I am not allowed to. Again, sorry for the hassil.
