Hey all, i've been having people that I know ask me the difference between Kingston's ValueRam and their Twin-X Ram. I have no idea :o . Does anyone here know what the difference is? (o btw, i've been starting to direct people to this forum...)

Saphalline will answer this the best but, since I just bought some Corsair dual channel DDR2 675/PC5400 twinx, I'll take a stab.

Kingston RAM, of any type is good RAM. Value RAM is probably just what the name implies--a value, a bit cheaper. Maybe timing specs are a little different than the next levels--latencies, etc.

Twinx--whether Kingston or Corsair is, I believe, enthusiast RAM. They usually come in pairs (thus the "twin" in twinx). They are "perfectly" (or nearly so) matched and come from the exact same manufacturing materials and processes. Given these twin qualities, processes, and pipelines they should work together "better" and there should be absolutely no conflicts or timing issues.

The simple answer would be value=less expensive and standard performance; twinx=more expensive, enthusiast performance, better matching
