View Full Version : HJT Logfile - I have to click back twice to go back one page on IE

garofalo4me

I am a little confused and annoyed with why most times I have to click back tiwce on my IE to go back on page. I know it is trying to reload the ads on the page, but I can not figure out how to stop this from happening. If you see anything else worth ditching also, I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advanced for anyone helping.

try this free download, it can identify things that aren't supposed to be there and get rid of them: http://www.download.com/3002-2094_4-10361717.html?tag=dir

Here is the new one. Any ideas on why I have to click the back button twice on some pages to go back?

You HJT log looks mostly clean... You will probably need to turn off the resident protection in MS Antispyware to fix what is there...

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

Then open an HJT scan and put a check by:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000000-59D4-4008-9058-080011001200} - (no file)

Then close all open windows except HJT and click Fix checked....

I don't know why your IE is having a problem... You could try a repair to see if that helps... Is it only on certain sites or everywhere... You can try a deeper scan to see if it shows anything... If you wish to:

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Nothing jumps out there as being bad... you could try this and see if it makes a difference, but I think you are clean....

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Post back on how it went as well...

It is all still looking clean... There is one more scan we can try if you would like... However, I suspect it is a matter of repairing IE...

Try running an MWavScan... It will produce a log in the lower right hand corner and you will need to use Ctrl-C to copy the bottom part of it that has the bad items and then paste it here for review....

http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp

It will suggest that you buy the product to fix what it finds, but that is not necessary... Just post the bad part of the scan and we will deal with it...

Actually, it isn't quite as bad as it looks... Several of those references are to traces left by things that are already cleaned up... For the rest, please do this...

Run an online virus scan, either Housecall from my links or Panda online...

Then download CCleaner:

http://www.ccleaner.com/

and KillBox:

http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip

Then reboot to Safe Mode (tap on F8 just before WinXP starts loading and select Safe Mode)... Set up and run CCleaner to empty out the Temp folders...

Then set up KillBox and use the Rename and Delete on reboot options to kill these if they are still there:

That looks like it is just leftovers in the Registry... I suggest running some other scans to see if that cleans it up...

Try a Housecall scan from my links... Then do a deep scan with Ad-Aware SE and Spybot... I would also try a trojan scan, either TDS3 or TrojanHunter:

http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/
http://www.trojanhunter.com/

You need to update the trojan scanners as you install them... Also update the spyware scans before running them...
