Hello you guys,

Here's my problem, can anyone help?

I have a compaq presario 2100 laptop running XP Home.

I have an Asus Wireless network card to allow my laptop to connect to my wireless router.

When my laptop comes up with it's "excellent connection", all is cool and I can do anything online. However, the laptop wil lock up completely at random intervals, sometimes after a minute or two, soemtimes after an hour or so.

So i disabled windows handling wireless connections, and allowed the wireless software to handle connection. Same thing happens.

I then thought it may be due to my wireless card being diffrent brand from my router, so I purchases the same brand, reinstalled everything, still locks up.

:mad:

Any ideas?

P.S. Everythng's cool when wired !!!! <== Sounds like a song title !!

try disabling hibernation, i have a compaq 2100us laptop with a netgear ma401 wireless card, and i had a similar problem... whenever my laptop would resume from hibernation, the wireless card would be all screwy... got rid of hibernation and it works fine

I know this is going to sound weird, but what`s your laptop actually resting on?

Crazy!!!?? Hear me out. I was having the exact same problems, I use a wireless connection etc. Thing is, it only started recently when i`d moved the laptop onto a plastic surface. I removed the plastic sheet, hey presto..!! No more crashes! Seriously!! I know it sounds stupid, but it now works fine. There may have been a build-up of static or something, I don`t know.

Just my 2 pennies worth.
