Hi, recently i put together a new computer (rather like 2days ago) and it ran okie for a day and a half. Now, after leaving it powered off for one day, it does not power on.

Nothing. No lights no beeps no fans spinning, nothing at all. I have gone through all the various threads pertaining to this problem and tried the suggested solutions to no avail.

PSU checks out fine. Used the new one i bought on another computer and it powers up.

Power switch works too, tried that out.

Power switch connection as well as the speaker connection to the motherboard has been tried and tested as well, was working previously.

Reset the CMOS, still nothing.

Removed the battery and shorted the system, yet still nothing.

Tried powering up the motherboard alone and still does not work.

Well, seems that i have tried everything i can (except getting a new motherboard the current one being 4 days old) and still it refuses to power up.

Any help and suggestions would be nice and i thank you in advance for replying to my post.

Cheers.

Check for voltage at the wall AC outlet.
If none, then troubleshoot the house circuitry.

If the AC outlet has power and you're using a surge arrestor, then plug the computer power cord directly into the wall outlet.
If that works, then the SA is bad.

If no luck, then check the main computer power cord to make sure it has voltage.
If none, then it's bad.

If the computer power cord is ok, then make sure the PS voltage selector switch is on 115V.

If ok, then slightly raise the PS's main power lead at the MB connector.
If that works, then the MB's connector may be bad.

If that does not work, then place the MB on a piece of cardboard, and install just the PS, MB, CPU, RAM, video card, monitor, and KB.

If no good, then the MB may be knackered.

Hey yeah thanks.
Figured it out.
Motherboard screwed up. Did everything u said.
Went back got it exchanged and that kinda did it. Even the guy at the shop had no idea what happened to the motherboard.

Thanks for everyones time.

Cheers.
