The problem I am having is in the setup area.
I am able to use some of the functions, but others I can not scroll or even enter the normal F series of functions and the related Default Functions.
They are of crse shown on the different areas eg Chipset BIOS etc. but only a few of the areas are capable of entering. Example I can't change the Boot from CD Rom Floppy etc. I have uninstalled all Virus or Firewall shields and have tried everything throughout the Setup area that enables the scrolling and via pages or Up and Down but nothing happens with alot of the functions that I wish to enable or disable // My main concern is to get a boot from the floppy I am using to Zero fill the existing hd drive. Although the xp pro win and all the identities with it function OK. Booting from the CD Rom is the first boot function which does work OK. Would clearing my CMOS via jumping it,
help in this area? It is a p4 genutel cpu and the chipset is fairly up to date within the last 3 yrs so all the applications of today are capable of using this Chipset or PC. Any suggestions would be a great help>>

Sounds to me like you have a customised BIOS with limited options from one of the prebuilt propietary mass production giants. Pray tell, make me a liar and post some system specs...

Thanks Fuss Tray/

cpu x86 15 model s stepping 5 Genuintel 2.8 MHz
I should beable to tell the chipset via some free download software utilities etc
Or would opening it up and looking at the MB give any indication>>
Thank you

Ok Fuss Tray "Correct you if you are wrong" accomplished.
Nevertheless I have gain your input for knowledge.
I open my friends PC and used the jumper too clear CMO'S.
All went well, was capable of using all the identities within the Setup areas.
Now my question is why would this happen to the CMOS chip??
Thank you for your support
