I have a HP Pavilion N3210 (Notebook). I purchased a new, bigger hard drive for it. To install the new hard drive is it as simple as just plugging the new one in and re-installing WinXP to it? Can anyone help me? Right now I plugged in the new drive and it's just stuck on the "HP Pavilion - Hit F2 for Setup" screen and nothing happens when I hit F2? I assume there are other things I need to do? Can onyone help?
What size hard drive did you get? Since the N3210 originally only had a 4 or 6G drive, it might have trouble with a large drive.

If you cant get into the BIOS setup using F2 it could be that the new HDD is either faulty or is making a bad connection to the computer. Can you get into the BIOS with either the old HDD attached or with no HDD attached.

Perhaps if you downloaded and made the HDD manufacturers' partitioning utility and booted with that in place [does the notebook have a FDD?] it wouldn't get to the point of attempting to boot from a HDD that the BIOS cannot fully address [perhaps that's what's causing the freeze].
Is your BIOS Setup configured to "Auto" detect all the drives?
If the BIOS cannot address the whole HDD capacity, the utility prog will probably have the ability to [automatically] install Drive Overlay software.
That's one [cost free, if not the best] solution to the problem.
