What do you mean by the latest? The fastest you can buy right now? For desktop or server? How about the ones that will be released shortly?

Fastest you can buy right now for desktop: Athlon64 FX-55 or Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.73

Fastest you can buy right now for dual-/quad-servers: Xeon 3.6 or Opteron 875

Standard desktop CPU's: Pentium 4 500/600 series or Athlon64 Socket 939 series

Upcoming desktop CPU's: Pentium D-840 (dual-core) and Toledo (dual-core)

The CPU world has gotten quite a bit more complex since the PII was the hottest one on the block!
