Hi Gamma boy.
You say you tried to install outlook 2000 and then removed it. was this a proper uninstall through control panel add/remove, or just a delete? I think MSO9.dll is part of outlook, as it is not part of Win98. If you cannot install outlook or remove it through control panel, I suggest booting to a DOS prompt, and running SCANREG_RESTORE. (space, not underscore in the command ), choose a registry backup dated before your install attempts, and restore from that. Will stop the registry looking for a non-existent file and cure the error message.

MSO9.Dll Is a Office97 file,Shut down findFastYou don't need it and it's a resourse hog see if that solves the problem?
If not do you have office97??? if so remove and reinstall.or which ever Office you use?
An Office-wide, language-specific, global dynamic-link library (DLL). Mso9.dll provides many functions, some of which are Office license verification, and drawing the Office menus and shared dialog boxes that are used by all Office programs.
And the proper syntax is scanreg_/restore changing underscore for space http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
