hi. so which is better? 2.5-3-3-7 or 3.0-3-3-8? i have a 800 MHz FSB and its 1:1. i dont know how to overclock ram anyway.

Then you might be able to answer your own question.

i read all about it. when i was done i gathered that 2.5-3-3-7 is better because the initial clock cycle is only 2.5 and the final is also one less clock cycle. am i right?

Yes, latencies indicate how long you have to wait for each step in the process. So lower numbers = less waiting = better.

In general, for DDR & DDR2 RAM, having a tRAS (last number) of 8 isn't very good. It's easy to spot flaky RAM by that last timing. The good stuff hits 7 without a problem, the really good stuff hits 6, and OC'ing RAM can hit 5. If I see a tRAS of 8, I know the RAM isn't as good as they claim!

cool thanks a lot man. my ram is factory and i havent overclocked it. (probably blow it if i tried). o well
