I have a customized Compaq Presario r3000z which currently has 512 MB of pc2700 RAM (it might be pc3200, not sure). The Crucial Memory Configurator tells me that I have two memory banks, the first of which contains 1 512MB stick.
This slot is not apparently accessible to replace or upgrade, however the crucial site reports that "Standard memory: 256 or 512MB removable."
The system specification on the HP site at the time that I bought the laptop says the memory is expandable to only 1280 MB, yet the customization options included 2 GB of memory as an option. The Crucial configurator also reports a maximum of 2 GB.
My question is, which is correct? Also, is there any way to access that first memory bank?
Thank you!
