Hello everyone.

This is my first post here, and I need to pick the brains of the PC gurus. I am wondering if a standard ATX power supply will power a micro-ATX mobo. Personally, I think it can, but I would like to be sure before I start a fire or something. Any help would be great.

Thanks all.

Short answer: yes, you are correct.

Long answer: more and more new motherboards require a new type of power supply (http://www7.tomshardware.com/howto/20041223/index.html). It has nothing to do with ATX vs micro-ATX, though; it's just that new components require more power, and the new standard delivers that power better.
