 I have a PC running Windows 98 that shutdown the other day. When I restarted it , the power supply fan wasn't running so I figured the power supply was bad and replaced it.

It booted fine with the new power supply, but after about 20 minutes running it shut down again. I removed each card on the mother board & reseated them & remade all the connections. The new power supply fan is running and it still shuts down for no apparent reason after running for about 15 or 20 minutes.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I moved this to Core Hardware as more likely hardware than software-related.

Welcome to the PC Guide Forums!! :D

Ok, we're gonna a lot more info here! Hardware, changes to the config recently, history of the PC, dust inside, etc.

Download and run Everest Home Edition (http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en) to give us the hardware info.

As of right now, knowing nothing about the system other than it has Win98 and a new PSU, I'd have to say the problem could be anything, except the PSU! :p
