I am having problems with my Compaq Restore Disc. The instructions say to: Shut down computer, turn it on again and when the Compaq screen comes up to insert the compaq restore disc. This is to boot from the restore disc so that I can do a full restore. When I follow these instructions, the computer boots up from windows and does not give me the full restore option. It will only allow me to do a selective restore. I want to do a full restore. I've tried following the instructions over 10x for a full restore with no success. Can anyone help me here? I'm trying to solve my earlier explorer problem and I need to do a full restore. Thanxhttp://

Go into your BIOS and make sure that the CD-ROM is selected as the first item in the boot order.

Sorry for the ignorance. How do you go into the BIOS? Thanks

when you turn you computer on you press the delete key and that should take you to the system setup screen, use the arrow keys to move down to the BIOS part

Not all computers use the <del> key and Compaqs are one of them...you need to hit the <f10> key while the cursor is flashing up in the corner.......
