Do you get any post beeps.

If so how many?

Can you load the system defaults in BIOS and re-boot?

If you have an eMachines OEM CD, it is likely that it has a drive image that is only functional with the original motherboard.

http://www.emachines.com/support/recover.html
"The restore/recovery media option that eMachines provides for our variety of products is:
CD Media — which are often called "restore/recovery CDs". This is a CD or DVD clearly marked with the PC Manufacturer's brand that can only be used on the PC you purchased. The media will be included as part of the materials you received at the time of purchase and will include all files necessary to restore the operating system on the PC."

You probably will need to get a full or upgrade version of XP, in addition to correcting any hardware problems related to the new motherboard.
