I have a Presario 1700US and it is working rather well on its own. I also have the docking station and am wondering if anyone has any advice for an issue of mine. I have wiped this laptop clean, it's running XP Corp and none of the original software is back. It seems much better this way. When I am attached to the docking station there are many ports I can use, usb, power, keyboard, mouse, 1394, moniter, composite?, s-video, and digital audio?. All normal ports work but I am trying to get any of the video out ports to work and neither the s-video or composite will work. Is this a video card issue, or a replicator issue, or maybe even a software issue? I have looked around a lot and found no drivers or anything to support this replicator so I assume its my card. I have cleaned the contacts to help rule out a hardware issue on the docking station......I am not sure where to go from there. Any of you compaq guru's that have an idea I would really appreciate it as I am stuck completely out of options. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif forums.

First, I assume you have read the Compaq web site for any instructions on how to activate the outgoing video. On laptops there is usually a key combination to convert the video from the screen to the other outputs.

I also assume you have the correct video driver and it supports the external monitor.

Please advise...
