alright, i'm 15 years old and i've got my first job this summer. making $8 an hour. i've decided im going to save up money to build a new PC. ive got all the parts picked out except, i dont really know anything about hard drives. not sure which one to get for this system (http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/WishList/WishDetail.asp?position=HISTORY&ID=1443119&WishListTitle=new%20comp)
i know there a few components missing, but ill be scavenging them from my current box. im not sure if the hard drive i've picked out will work with the rest of the system or not. could someone please help me find one that would work at around the same storage and close to the same price as possible? thanks in advance.

Aloha Aeonblue11 and welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif
Well, i would like to take a look at the system you are trying to show us, but unless we have your user ID and password ( and I REAALLYYY don't want it) we can not see it from the link you posted ;) It takes us to a login page.
Maybe you can list the specs and give a little more detail in what you expect your hard drive to do.
Good luck

With the motherboard you have chosen you will have the ability to use the IDE channels and use ATA harddrives or, you will be able to use up to 4 SATA drives.
SATA drives are the latest and greatest;

I agree that SATA is best when you already have a mobo that has direct support. A bit more expensive maybe - but well worth it.
Since you chose a Samsung PATA consider the Samsung SATAs instead:

If performance is premium then get one of the 10,000 rpm WD Raptors.
