hey all,

is it possible to perform the trendmicro and bitdefender scans through firefox?
i loaded the ieviewer on firefox then went to trendmicro, which asked me to download active-x.

is this the only way to do it? after the scan is completed should i delete active-x or keep it for future scans?

I would just use IE... It won't hurt to use it for the time it takes to do the scan...

Trend Micro (Housecall) will work in Firefox, providing that you have Java installed.
Pandascan will only work with IE.

Isnt the Active X thing a one off download for Firefox ? It's just a plug in isnt it?

Use your firewall to control active x allowance so your prompted each time a site tries to use it.

No. ActiveX is a Microsoft technology, and only supported in Internet Explorer. It is actually one of the main reasons that IE is more vulnerable, at default settings, to hijackers etc. It will not work with Firefox.
