Hi, i'm having a little problem right now. After a few minutes of inactivity, this message appears: "BURN IN MODE" and there is nothing I can do to get back to the normal windows screen. I have to reboot with the ON/OFF button to get this problem resolved for some times before it shows this message again.. Can someone help me with this?

Thanks

You'll have to provide a heck of a lot more info than that for someone to start to help you. Start with:

System specs

What OS

What you are doing before and when this happens

Also, is there any diagnostic software running in the background?

the computer is running windows 2k. It's a pentium III 1 ghz, 256 mb of RAM. It is not my computer, it'a a pc at work. The problem happens when the pc is inactive (when it turns to stand by I guess). What I want to know is what is the BURN IN mODE? Is it a message from the board or a bad signal from the video card? To answer ski question: NO. It's a low usage computer that runs word and stuff like that, nothing more.

Thanks

Check the Screen Saver settings and the power/hibernate settings.

Burn In should not be some signal or lack thereof from the normal graphics subsystem. A Burn In is a test phase after a computer is built to stress the new system to see if it survives and is performed using an application program. Most failures with new equipment happen quickly.

Since this is not a new build...

I suppose it could also be some kind of malware. Have you run a complete set of malware scans to rule that out? Start with Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and a virus scan.
