How do I turn off Floppy Drive check?

In Windows 98SE, when I first click on the desktop's 'My Computer' icon, the floppy disk drive 'rattles'. This has only occured recently. Obviously Windows has 'forgotten' a setting that turns this function off but, for the life of me, I cannot think of how to do it.

See if this helps:
Right click on an open area of the taskbar, click Properties, click the 'Start Menu Programs' tab, click the Clear button under 'Documents Menu', and click OK.
