When burning DVD's my PC does not seem to be getting data to the drive consistently. When using Nero, I notice that the buffer capacity is constantaly bouncing back and forth between 100% and close to 0%. Although I have set the burn speed at 4X it ends up taking about 40 minutes to burn a complete disk. When using Roxio's Media Creator (Creator Classic), if I set the burn speed at 4X, the indicator shows that it is burning at less than 2X. System set up several months ago and did not have any problems until 10 days ago. No new software, drivers, etc. Scanned for viruses (NAV), spyware (Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware), etc., and none found. Tried defrag. Tried without any other programs running. Turned off most startup programs. Nothing seems to make a difference. Since this problem didn't exist before, I assume that something got corrupted or dumped somewhere, but everything else seems to work fine. :confused:
Any ideas would be appreciated.
