Hey people,i need a little bit of help with this confusing problem confused  .i have a mobo with a 24 pin connecter but my psu has a 2o pin connecter but i bought a adapter to fix that. this makes the first 20 pins have power so the only problem is that it only supplies power to the first 20 pins on the mobo and i wonder if thats a problem becuase on other forums they say the xtra 4 pins are for PCI-E graphics cards but im not sure?? thanx so much!! :D

The PCIe card will have a cable that has a connector to attach to a four pin PSU cable/connector. That will provide power to the graphics card. Usually, the 20 pin PSU to mainboard connector will work just fine on the mobo and should only fit one way so you shouldn't mess up. The mobo manuals may say this is not recommended, but it will work. My Asus manual said that and so far my system is OK. Additionally, my PSU and mobo both had a square 4-pin supplemental power connector. So the PSU to mobo was two separate connectors-- a 20 and a 4, plus a dedicated PSU molex connecting via a cable to the PCIe graphics card.

thanx for that-one thing though, i havent got a pci-e card i have a 9800 pro AGP card and it needs itz own molex (4 pin) and i have this 20-24 pin adapter that makes the first 20 pins have power and the other 4 are just plastic blocks that fill the remaing 4 blocks. i am 13 and i just spent a lot of money on the psu and case and i jsut wanted 2 make sure wen we put the mobo in that it will actually power up! and thanx it is VERY reasurring(not sarcastic)
