windows options menu?

Hi all,
i thought i had a problem getting into safe mode, but it's any selection from
the windows advanced options menu...no matter which option (with network, command prompt), i always get to a normal windows.

any ideas?

Ok,
i found that if you go..
start
run
msconfig...ok
on the general tab, click advanced
and in the advanced settings, check the box enabled startup menu..click ok

the pc starts up to a menu where safe mode and others are options which works with my pc
