Nope, never set virtual memory to 0, you'll most likely end up with more trouble than you ever wanted.
I usually let Windows handle virtual memory, it does a pretty good job of it. If you want to set a fixed size virtual memory, you can set both the minimum and maximum to the same size, the most common recommendation is 2 1/2 times the size of your RAM memory. This has been a hot debate for a long time though, some people think twice the size of your RAM, some think 100MB is enough, and other opinions abound...Check the PC Guide and some of the other sites out there concerning technical gibberish, you'll find plenty info and recommendations if you look.

Here a couple of links that basically mimic Pete's comments and maybe give a little more info. http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/answerstips/story/0,3656,2263773,00.html http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/answerstips/story/0,3656,5160,00.html

I've decided to go with 256MB instead of 512 so I'll just leave it on, thanks for the info though

Good articles, bassvax, though they made a couple of booboos. The 430HX can cache over 64 MB of memory if it has enough tag RAM. Also, 128 MB may be a point of diminishing returns, but it depends on what you are doing: graphics programs can use much more than that easily.
