Cant Run certain programs

ok, I formatted, and I can access Explorer. Anyone think of things I might of missed in configuring my network settings that wouldn't allow me to connect to such programs as AIM, ICQ, mIRC? Im using Win 98se and the server is running NT. My drives are not partitioned. Any ideas?

Ok what do you currently have installed?

Do you have a firewall program running (like ZoneAlarm)?

Have you properly configure your internet connection?
