I am using D-Link wireles router and USB adaoter. I have installed everything according to the manual but I am having major trouble. The wireless computer that is using the USB adapter is running Win98SE while the hardwired computer is running XP. I have been able to do this setup without problems on my laptop, but when I try it on a desktop I can only find the available networks but can not connect. I have tried using WEP, disabling WEP, auto IP, static IP and even a different brand usb adapter. All with the same problem.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Maybe I need to install something extra on Windows to get the computers to communicate, but I am not sure what could be missing.
