I assume that you are referring to an intenal ZIP drive. These use the floppy drive interface, so you will need a floppy drive cable with three connectors. With these cables, there is a twist in a prt of the ribbon between two of the connectors. The floppy (A) drive goes on that end connector, and the ZIP drive on the centre one.

Ya am reffering to the internal ZIP Drive, so u say we can use the 34 pin floppy drive connector to connect the ZIP Drive, but can we use the 40pin IDE cable as well ?

in the iomega website it says i can use a 3.5" or 5.25" drive bay and IDE controller with a free connection ..now which cable are they reffering to IDE 40 pin or the 34 pin floppy drive cable with a twist in it ?

If it is an IDE connection, then you must use the 40/80 wire IDE cable, and connect it to an IDE port on the motherboard.
The last one I installed, a few years ago, was just a floppy connector, so I may have misled you with my previous post.

Zip drives can be either/or. I've seen them set up for floppy interface, the one I have now is IDE and can be used as a slave on the secondary with CD ROM...it can be used on Primary IDE too, of course, but that would affect performance if the controlller defaults to the speed of the slower device.
