Hi bobbrinks and welcome to the PCGuide

Simple things first. Are you sure that it is plugged in correctly and that no keys have got stuck down?

Have you tried your keyboard in another PC and vice-versa?

G'day bobbrinks;
How's things?

As I understand it, an error message like this can mean 3 things.

The 3 options being a faulty keyboard, the keyboard fuse, a faulty keyboard BIOS chip.

As already mentioned, the faulty keyboard can be determined by exchanging with a known working type.
The keyboard fuse can be tested with a multimeter, through the lowest ohms range. If the fuse is fine the reading is practically zero ohms and faulty, the multimeter will show an open circuit.
If there is no keyboard fuse, the other problem may be the BIOS chip. If the chip is socketed then it may be possible to remove and replace? If the chip is soldered into the motherboard, then exchange of the motherboard may be necessary.

Incidently; never connect or disconnect the keyboard with the computer operating. It's possible to ruin the keyboard BIOS chip and/or cause a voltage spike, which may have the potential to blow the keyboard fuse.

I hope this helps.

Cheers;
Dazzler.
