My total number of posts= the year my Grandfather was born. A hero to many, a genius to many more, both to me. I miss him very much :(

Father’s day is coming gang. Let’s not forget the important men in our lives. Have you made your reservations? Bought that special gift or card? Set aside some time to quietly remember?

Have you made a family tree and included your Grandfather on it? :)

It can be interesting to find out things like:
Who were his parents?
Where did they come from?
How many brothers and sisters did he have?
Where did he fit in relation to them? Oldest or youngest?
What kind of life did they lead? What occupations?

My fathers' father was born in 1863. Is that a record I wonder?
His father was a "Sinker" [born 1814 in Newcastle Upon Tyne], who married in 1841 in the family Church on the estate of the Shaftoe family [of "Bobby Shaftoe's gone to sea, Silver buckles on his knee" fame].
[Little details put flesh on the bones.]
