Hello jopetsy and Welcome to http://pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

Sorry, I'm not real clear on what you are asking. Are you asking if there is a way to capture image off the CRT? Could you elaborate more?

what i really mean is that i have an old monitor and just plainly want to use it as an input. for example, use it for playstation without the need of pc. just directly from the monitor to the playstation. hope u could help. tnx.

Keyboards and mice are input devices.
A monitor is an output device, not an input device. The computer video chip or card generates the signal that the monitor then displays.
just directly from the monitor to the playstation.
From the Playstation to the monitor is how that works, you desire to use the monitor as a Playstation display. The Playstation generates the signal that the monitor displays.

Hmmmm...to get the signal from the Playstation to display, you'd probably be needing a video card capable of accepting a TV or Video input (i.e., standard TV/video hookup supplied with the Playstation, or the yellow RCA (with red/white audio) Playstation adapter).

I watch TV on my monitor using an All-in-Wonder video card using a standard TV cable input. The All-in-Wonder also comes with an adapter that would allow plugging in the yellow/red/white RCA Playstation plugs...

The input signal from the Playstation is designed for TVs. Some of the newer monitors I believe can accept a direct TV signal without a video card. If not one of these newer ones, you'd need the video card to handle the TV signal put out by the Playstation...

I looked thru several of the sites in This Google search (http://www.google.com/search?biw=1016&hl=en&q=monitor+adapters&btnG=Google+Search) and did not find what you are looking for. Maybe you can take a look and find something.;)
Funny, I thought Xbox had a DB15 port on them. What video output options does the Xbox have?

EDIT- Took a look around Xbox.com (http://www.xbox.com/en-us/default.htm) and saw what kind of output it has. They have several different adapters, but nothing to go to a DB15 monitore plug.
Not sure if this is the only thing you are wanting to use it for, but it is what you mentioned. ;) Without being hooked up thru a computer, I don't think you will get signal to a monitor.

EDIT 2- DOOOHHHHH!!! You didn't say Xbox, you said Playstation (http://www.us.playstation.com/peripherals.aspx?id=1). Sorry, same story :(

Good luck
Frank

Yes, nice find HG. The first link I looked at in the above google search was RAM, but I did not find that

Thank you...although at $89 it's not exactly a bargain

Can't you buy a TV for less than that these days? :D
