Hello there.

I've recently set an order for a new computer, and the parts that I have a feeling are going to conflict are my sound card, which is an Audigy 2 ZS and my motherboard's onboard sound. The motherboard is an Asus A8N-SLI PCI-E (http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=006818&cid=MB.693). Now, when the Audigy is installed, does the mobo automatically disable the onboard sound? How would I go about disabling it?

Thanks in advance.

In your BIOS under Integrated Peripherals you will find Onboard audio controls that you can set to disabled.

Thanks FTT. I just spent an hour struggling with the Asus servers to get to the manual. Funny, I could get the Chinese servers in Chinese, bnut no English.

FTT is correct, of course on what to do. It may also be under Advanced/Onboard Devices Configuration/

Oh okay. Well, I don't have the computer just yet, but when I get it could I possibly re-consult you for help if I need it? I don't exactly know where/how to get to the BIOS and stuff.

When you're ready, sure. You'll have the mobo manual then. The info is in chapter 4.

Thank you very much. I don't really know how to do much with that stuff because the comp I've had for the last five years is an HP Pavilion, and when I bought it, it didn't come with much documentation.
