Can I make my Gateway PC wireless (I do not have a wireless card(?) in the CPU)? Could I get one of the wireless adapters for the IEEE slot or a USB slot and make it wireless? Would I need anything else like software? Is one wireless adapter better than another? I know enough to be hazardous to the health of my PC. LOL ........... Thanks LDS

Yes you could make it wireless but you need to make intelligent choices of how you want to do it so everything works and you can secure the wireless connection.
What wireless router/access point do you have for the PC to access? What 802.11 speed is the device, b, g ?
Does the wireless router/access point have encryption available to secure the connection? What type of encryption choices?
Is your Gateway a desktop PC or is it a notebook PC?

PrntRhd, I have a DSL'd 2Wire Business Portal secured with a WEP. DSL connection from wall to Portal, Ethernet from Portal to desktop PC, running wireless network for printer and laptop. Have a second desktop CPU (older Gateway, Win98SE) not being used but would like the option to, and to print from it using the wireless printer. Possible? LillyDayStar
