Help with graphics

I have a MSI Micro ATX motherboard with ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset. When I try to play Half Life 2 my graphics start to screw up, my screen flashes on and off and on a couple of occasions my computer has shut off.
To get it to start again I have to turn off the main power in the back and turn it back on again. Also it sound like a fan inside the tower is reving really fast when my graphics begain to screw up. Half Life 2 is not the only game this has happened too. Can these problems be from my ATI chipset from heating up :confused:

Make sure you have the latest motherboard / chipset drivers installed first of all.

To check if it's heat, take the side off your case a blow a fan inside. If this solves the problem, you've got temperature problems.
