Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and was hoping someone could help me. I'll list my setup, and then the problems. TIA.

Cable modem (motorola- no problems)
Uniden WNR2004 wireless router (b) (with 4 ports for wired connections) WEP enabled
Compaq Laptop (wired connection to router) (wireless turned off) running XP home (b)
HP media center running xp MCE 2005, wireless connection.(b/g)
HP 2510 network printer, connected via cat 5
VOIP adapter connected wired, no problems
Sony TH55 wireless (b)

Here are the problems:
All computers and the handheld can access the internet through the router, and are assigned IP addresses by the router. Printer and VOIP adapter also assigned valid IP addresses. I have turned off the windows firewalls and have no other software firewall. In the past, when I have had multiple computers networked all via hard wire I had no problems.

1st: Computers in network appear in each others workgroup computers screen, however, the shares cannot be accessed. The error message is that the computer is not available and the network path was not found. Same thing in the other direction. Handheld can find laptop if it is wireless and disconnected from the network, but cannot find it thru the router

2nd: When using laptop wirelessly, it cannot find the network printer, so I cannot print anything unless the cat 5 cable is plugged in. Hours on the phone with HP, and still unresolved.

I've had problems for months with wired/wireless compatibality and have not been able to find a solution. I'll be moving in a few months to i new house in which i ran Cat 5 all over, trying to avoid wireless, but I'd still like to figure this out for guests and so I can use the wireless feature of my PDA.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Sounds like a permission problem to me. I am not familiar enough with MCE yet to know if it is XP Pro or Home but it sounds like it is probably XP Pro. If this is the case and you want to talk to an XP home box you need to enable the guest account on the MCE box. Look up in google, networking xp home and and xp pro if you get stuck.
