Using Abit's Hardware doctor I see that the Vcore voltage is 1.66 while the minimum is stated at 1.86.

Could this be the causes of erratic behaviour of the pc as expained below?

I posted the following at 16 [:0] 9 C.E.T. today:

My PC had problems finding its ISDN card. With a new USB ISDN adapter connected it crashes 100%. The rest of the time I have lost drive G: in explorer but can open it through start menu. The taskbar/quick launch toolbar menu is also disabled and all my quik launch icons have dissapeared.

I had used drive converter on Drives: C: D: E: F: and then it could not find the partition on G: That is probably when G: dissapeared in explorer and other software.

I have run some hardware test uitiilities and they report a healthy PC. Is this Windows screwing with me?

Any Ideas?

The disappearing icons can possibly be traced to the changed drive letters, but there is also the possibility that something more sinister is happening, like a virus, so try a good scan with updated definitions, and maybe something like Housecall (http://housecall.antivirus.com/pc_housecall/) if you can get on line.......

Now for a couple of questions....

What OS are you running?

What was the reason you were converting the drive?

Have you run a scandisk on it to see if there is a drive problem (the drive manufacturer's diagnostic utilities would also be a good idea)?

Hello mjc,

I am running win 98SE.

The strange thing is that drive G: is available in DOS and in windows through the start menu run option. It is also a clean and undamaged driv e according to scan disk. I have checked the core voltage with Intel and it is actually correct for my processor. The abit hardware doctor utility had got it wrong.

Every hardware trest I run reports a healthy PC and it has been running well for more than two years in itgs present configuration.

I am begining to think that I had better format all my drives and reinstall windows from scratch.

Thanks for your reply, Greg.
