I cannot get my pc to boot up. First their was constant alarm emitted from the speaker now when i connect the power lead the fan runs for a few seconds then stops. any suggestions?

Try the PSU in another machine see if that is the problem

Constant beeping is a memory (NO Memory installed) warning.
reseat your memory.
Where are you fans connected? To the power supply directly or to the Mother board?

If the fan that stops running cools the CPU and it's connected to the motherboard, then it's a good bet that your CPU is toast.
If that's the problem and you have to install a new CPU, then buy a 3 pin-to-4 pin adapter and connect the fan directly to the power supply's 12 volt leg.
