Do you mean like a virus???? error403.
I think I can see the humor in this, but it is not something we would want to suggest or give info on "how to."

Yeah those pranks are the realm of crackers and hackers, which is banned from the forums.
And Pete will let you know if you forget http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif

I strongly feel that you should not mess with someone elses computer, not even in fun or as a joke. Some people do not know where to look or what to do to remove these programs. Put yourself in their shoes, and ask would I want someone to do this to me.

A prank is a prank is not a prank. I suppose everything is relative but if a "prank" results in the loss of an hour's or a day's or a week's work (or more depending on how often and reliably you back-up) or prevents you from making an important contact; then that is not a prank; it is pure undiluted badness. It is the impositon of one person's will over another; from which all evil stems.

This post reminds me of a hacker story I once heard in a security class I was attending. Seems a hacker had taken control of another guys computer. The guy's computer had a web cam installed and placed at the top of his monitor which provided a view of the guy's bedroom. Well, one night as the guys girlfriend was reading a book and he was busy surfing the web, the hacker sends the guy a messages and takes a screen capture of it.

Then the hacker took a picture of the guys face as he was reading the computer's message.

Error403:
1. It is not within our usual field of endeavors to loacte, share or promote tampering with another person's computer. Sure it's just a prank, and plenty are available that are basically harmless and sometimes rather humorous. But it still is tampering with their computer which we do not suport or endorse. I'm sure some of us have used some of these pranks along the line, but that is not what we're here for. If you want pranks, you'll have to look them up yourself.
2. Profanity is not necessary, nor is it tolerated here. Some of our regular users have young children and many do not approve of that kind of language. This is a public forum that people from all over the world read every night. Some are serious about their religion. Some may not be, and just don't think profanity is appropriate. We always try to be considerate of those peoples' views and beliefs.
I/we will appreciate not seeing any more language of that nature.

After I canceled my subscription to "PC Magazine" because it got to the point where I couldn't tell the difference between the articles and the advertisements, I tried several other PC Magazines to find one that was half way decent. One of the magazines I temporarily subscribed to was called "Maximum PC." I like a good laugh as much as the next person, but I didn't bother to renew my subscription to "Maximum PC" because of an article about all the "pranks" the magazine's writers (teenagers mostly) played on each other. I figured if they had that much time to spend on pranks, they probably weren't very interested in putting out a quality magazine.
I finally settled on "PC World" because it's kind of like "PC Magazine" used to be before it became almost 100% advertising. Haven't seen a copy of "PC Magazine" since the dot-bomb implosion though - it probably has far fewer advertisements these days. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
