Hi,
I have a log for a friend that I was hoping someone could check to tell me if it's a clean log or not. In the past they have had problems with their computer so I just wanted to make sure its okay now or if they still have junk on their system.
Thank you.

This computer has a LOP infection... LOP is installed as "Sponsor" software for Messenger Plus 3 and it is an example of one case in which the user really did have a choice to install or not... The simplest solution is to completely remove Messenger Plus3 with Add/Remove Programs and then, if the user insists on keeping the program, reinstall it being careful to uncheck the box asking to install the sponsor software... If your friend chooses to clean it out, it would be a good idea to post a fresh HJT log afterward to make sure it is all gone... reboot just before making the new log...

Are you sure they removed Messenger Plus3 properly through Add/Remove Programs?? LOP is still there and it is much harder to remove if it isn't removed in the MessPlus3 uninstall.... It looks like they may have just deleted some of the MessPlus3 files....
If they did do it properly already, they need to run a HJT scan and put checks by:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.bcbegyvtnipo.com/B5ynAs/...RWdCVRGWZV.html

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [DrawOoze] C:\DOCUME~1\Dustin\APPLIC~1\HOLDDA~1\PeakCreative. exe
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: MsgPlusLoader.dll
This one is a program that is designed to get updates, but it also is reported to report back on the user to the company that placed, probably Logitech... I suggest fixing it too:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [LDM] \Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe
Close all open windows except HJT and click Fix checked....
Then find and delete the folders in bold... The ones with the ~ will begin with the letters you see, but there will be more to the name:
C:\DOCUME~1\Dustin\APPLIC~1\SCRSAF~1\Poke Logo.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DvdItchCurbFork\Dog one.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\Dustin\APPLIC~1\HOLDDA~1\PeakCreative. exe
If they did not remove MessPlus3 properly (which seems very likely), they need to reinstall it and remove it properly rather than using the HJT fixes... It is much cleaner when done properly... Either way, reboot and post a fresh HJT log when done...

Yeah you're right. They had problems uninstalling it. When he reinstalls Messenger Plus does he need to install it with the sponsor again or without it? Because he reinstalled it without the sponsor and then deleted it and it seemed to work okay this time around when he removed it. Here is the new HJT log:

Try it without the sponsor and then uninstall it completely with Add/Remove Programs... Then reboot and post a fresh HJT log...

Umm... that's what he already did... The HJT log was after he reinstalled the MessPlus without the sponsor and then uninstalled it.. Is there something wrong with that log still?

I didn't see that he had done that already... However, these are still there and need to be fixed with HJT:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FAC21336-C74D-5ECB-AFD5-6602FDBD3CDA} - C:\DOCUME~1\Dustin\APPLIC~1\SCRSAF~1\Poke Logo.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Curb Fork Hope Hide] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DvdItchCurbFork\Dog one.exe
Then the folders need to be found and deleted as I said in my earlier response...
Just to make it more likely that we get it all...
Please download, install, and update the NEW free version of Ewido trojan scanner (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/):
When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run.
If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. We have been finding some cases of false positives with the new version of Ewido, so we need to step through the fixes one-by-one. If Ewido finds something that you KNOW is legitimate (for example, parts of AVG Antivirus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk" have been flagged), select "none" as the action. DO NOT check "Perform action with all infections". If you are unsure of an entry, select "none" for the time being. I'll see that in the log you will post later and let you know if ewido needs to be run again.
When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again.
Post a fresh HJT log after reboot too...

The log is looking clean... Assuming there are no more problems, here is my prevention speech:
This is a good time to set up protection against further
attacks. Read the article linked below about "How did I
get infected". You need an antivirus that is updated, a
good firewall (a router firewall is not enough) and a
spyware blocker like SpywareBlaster and also IE-Spyads.
All of these have good free versions available... be very
cautious about any security software that advertises in
popups or other intrusive ways, they are not only usually
useless, but also often have malware in them....
