My P3 notebook often is put into SUSPEND mode on battery power, and then locked into it's tight leather case.

I set the power-off to then HIBERNATE the computer & switch the battery power off. If the CPU COOLER FAN hapens to operate in the leather case (will it?), is there a danger of overheating?

If the CPU / notebook computer does overheat, will it be damaged? Often rapid SUSPEND mode is required when I move from CAR-OFFICE-HOME. SUSPEND mode (ON or OFF) takes less than 10 seconds in XP HOME.

If the battery is turned off, then there's no power available to run anything and nothing will overheat.

Basically you should be ok with anything except "Suspend to Ram" (if you have that option), because "hibernate" will write to your HDD and then go into an extremely low power mode, "suspend" isn't really a transport mode (it is just to quick to resume) and of course power off is off...
