Just installed a new PC Chips Mobo with an AMD 64 CPU. Hardware comprises:- 2 x 160Gb HDD/ 2 x DVD RW/1 Gb Ram/ Soundblaster Audigy 2. Clean install of Windows XP and no problems. When I tried to install the mobo drivers from cd the computer fails to initialise the setup software. It tries...but after approx 3 minutes it just comes out of the install routine. I have installed the SB Audigy software with no problems (cd..same drive) and various other software, again with no problems. It would be easy to blame the actual cd except that I have had this same problem before. I cannot for the life of me remember how I solved it except to say that I had to change a setting in Windows or the Bios...I just cannot remember what it was! I have the SATA option disabled in Bios and everything else seems ok. Has anyone got any ideas please?
