I bought a built to my specs pc in February.
It has 512 RAM
450 Watt power supply
XP pro
CD-RW
DVD ROM
My daughter was sitting in front of the pc NOT touching it when she heard a BOOM! She said it sounded like the snapper fireworks that are thrown and they explode when they hit the ground. She said a few minutes later she heard a hissing sound.
I read the sticky about the capacitors and decided to check to see if that was the problem. It wasn't.
The pc came with a 1 yr warranty, unfortunately the company closed a month and a half ago :(
I think it might be the power supply but I didn't smell anything and the motherboard light [green] was still on when I got up the next morning.
I thought about taking the P/S from my old pc to see if it worked but the old ps is 250 watts.
I just plugged it back in and the green light came on and stayed on, red and dvd drive lights came on for a split second and then went out. I can NOT shut it off by the on/off button. I have to shut it off by the switch in the back.

HELP!!! PLease!!
