I just upgraded from a Pentium 2 to a Pentium 3, 1 GB. I installed a 694TAS Motherboard and 640MB of PC133 ram. When I'm on the net I keep getting a system memory is low error. And different applications will not run properly such as some web pages will not show some pictures. I have over 8 GB left on my hard drive. The 640MB shows on start up or am I totally missing the picture. This is new to me so be gentle. Thanks. Tim
what opereating system are you running?
Win9x can have problems with RAM amounts in excess of 512MB...the fix is to reduce the amount of RAM or tweak the OS.

MJC, I'm running Win98, I'll try pulling 128mb and see what it does. Thanks,Tim

MJC, you hit the nail on the head. Being computer smart I,m not. I've believe I've screwed up more than I fixed, but I,m trying to learn as I go.I guess more is not always better (as I,ve been told by most computer people.) Thanks again for the help. Tim

I have a similiar problem. I am adding new RAM to my machine to make it to 512M and win98SE doesn't boot. It works fine with 256M. Is there any patch I can get to fix this?
If you installed an additional 256MB memory module, then uninstall the original module. If the system does not boot with just the new module, then it's either incompatible or bad.
