Hi guys need quick help,

When i turn on my pc the it runs but the monitor doesnt display anything it goes amber than showing the green light near the button in order for it to display the GUI. It doesnt display even the start up dont know why. I use to get a lot of crashes where this problem occurs in between but it works again when i reboot it.

My fan seems to be ok and 1 yr old atm, not sure about my cpu i ran pc opening the case and the cpu fan etc seems to be running.

Clue: I've noticed that when i use to boot my pc it use to make a beep noise and then montior displays the beginning part before booting windows.

I really need to get this problem fixed guys show me what your exellent minds are capable of :)

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

I would begin by checking your monitor's cable connections making sure they are tight. If the problem persists, I would suggest trying another monitor to make sure the problem is not with the monitor itself...flaky monitors can exhibit all sorts of odd symptoms...

You should hear a single beep which means that your computer has successfully made it through the Power On Self Test (POST).

dont work and the problem is not the monitor as ive already mentioned i tried another monitor that works and same problem it wont start. All the cables are tight as hard but still goes amber

Download a copy of my diagnostic flowcharts from here
www.erniek.eclipse.co.uk/downloads/sylvanderdiags.zip
and print them to leaf through.
Begin on the STARTUP chart.

Report back what your symptoms are and where they take you on the charts.
I'd guess you have no beeps therefore NO POST.
In which case the the video card isn't enabled and therefore no display.
This whether the monitor is ok or not.
If you had gotten a single short beep, but no display, that would have been due to a problem with the monitor or signal cable connection.
