View Full Version : Keyboard problems
The keyboard won't work on my system. No keyboard works. Not even the one that came with the pc. When you boot up the pc it says "Keyboard Not Detected". No reason why. The driver is installed. The keyboard that came with it should be compatible but who knows. =/ If anyone can help me, please contact me at: E-mail: sylentraven@aol.com ICQ#: 159426119 or AIM: AngelicLyam or just reply to this post.
Thanks!
The cause could be either a blown fuse on the motherboard near the keyboard port, or a bad keyboard port.
so .. if it's a bad keyboard port, since the port is on the motherboard, what would fix that problem besides replacing the motherboard?
and if it's a blown fuse, is there a way to fix that without getting another motherboard?
Thanks for the help!
Some fuses can be replaced by simply removing them from the MB and inserting a new one, while others are integral.
If the latter is the case, or if the port is bad, then replacing the MB is the only cure.
Or you may be lucky and have a motherboard that will support a USB keyboard from BIOS (that way you would be able to use it to access the BIOS)...but if you aren't sure about it then you can't really try, becuase if it isn't enabled then you will have no way to enable it... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif. Check your manual, it if you have it it may be enabled by default and restting the BIOs to factory defaults (by using the clear CMOS jumper) would enable it...but I wouldn't really count on that being the case.
