I know that this has been covered in an earlier post by "rckclmbr2003", but the advice given didn't help me.
My Media Player is not working at all. All I receive is "internal application error" no matter if I manually start it up, try to auto play a CD, or run a audio/media file.
We have tried to reinstall, checked microscoft support site, googled for anything, and that's what led me here. I have done the registry advice given by "Mr. Umbrella" to "rckclmbr2003", didn't receive an error while doing it, but still the same error message comes up when trying to run Media Player.
I also have no idea how long the problem has been going on, so I don't have a certain restore point I can go to.....if I go even 4 days back, I will be loosing spyware updates and the like.

Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Heidi

Hey there.... I can't fix your problem. I have the same problem actually (well kind of the same). I gave up on Media Player. I have started to use Win Amp 5. It is LOADS (sorry to shout) better. If it wasn't too much touble you could download that. It is free afterall and I think it works better and faster. If you need to rip something from a CD then maybe you could use AudioGrrabber from http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/

I dont know if this is any help or even if you need it anymore.
