We have a workstation running win 2k with a small scsi raid for the operating system and apps, and external (firewire) drive holding the data and tape backup.
Recently the scsi drives went bad and we replaced them. Software reinstallation went ok.
When I plugged in the external drive all seemed fine. I could see the data and things headed toward recovery.
Then I rebooted the PC and somehow the scsi drive was remapped as the d: drive and the external as the c: drive. The bios didn't like that.
Since then I have not been able to remap the scsi to c: even after removing the external drive. The bios is no help. There is nowhere to set drive letters. The bios doesn't even see either drive, one being a scsi raid and the other a firewire connection.
still confused - getting frustrated...
any suggestions?
